About this deal

High Dynamic Range (HDR) technology enhances the contrast and colors of the picture, resulting in a more lifelike image. Look for a TV with HDR10 or HDR10+ for the best HDR experience. Smart TV features If you are a gamer, it's also worth considering the next-gen gaming features of your prospective new TV. Xbox Series X and PS5 gamers can gain a competitive advantage on certain games if their TV supports 4K 120Hz, while VRR support can result in a smoother gameplay experience. ALLM, meanwhile, simply ensures that you automatically get the best visual experience from both games and movies / TV shows. If you are a more casual gamer or not a gamer at all, you can pretty much disregard these features, and it's likely that doing so will save you a lot of cash.

Refresh rate refers to the number of times a TV screen refreshes the entire on-screen image, per second. This count is measured in Hertz, or Hz. A 60Hz TV will refresh an image 60 times, and a 120Hz TV will refresh an image 120 times. The best budget QLED TV we've tested is the Hisense U6/U6K. It's a well-rounded option with surprisingly good picture quality. This Hisense has excellent contrast, so dark scenes look amazing in a dark room, with little blooming around bright areas of the screen. It also has good peak brightness in SDR and decent reflection handling, so glare isn't an issue in a brighter room. It has an excellent color volume, making this TV very colorful overall. It's bright enough in HDR for a pleasant viewing experience, and just like the Hisense U8/U8K and Hisense U7K, it supports both HDR10+ and Dolby Vision HDR, although it doesn't support advanced DTS audio formats like those models do. High-definition TVs currently fall into three categories: Full HD/FHD, otherwise known as 1080p, which has 1,920 x 1,080 pixels on the screen; Ultra HD/UHD, more commonly referred to as 4K (3,840 x 2,160 pixels); and the highest of them all, 8K (7,680 x 4,320 pixels). These days, only the cheapest (and often the smallest) TVs utilise an FHD/1080p resolution.Ultimately, while the AU7100 certainly can't hold a candle to a top OLED or QLED, it's superb for its price.

Gaming performance was another plus point for the Omni QLED. It did a great job of handling graphically intense moments, with smooth motion processing and minimal delay thanks to its low 10ms input lag time. The picture quality delivered was crisp as well, thanks to Dolby Vision gaming support. However, it sadly doesn't have 4K 120Hz support, but this is not something you get in TVs at this price range anyway. Gaming has never felt so satisfying. Pin-point precision like never before, lag-less gameplay, a seamless experience - it's all possible with a proper high refresh rate TV. Select the highest resolution possible When not at his desk writing, reviewing or deal-hunting, he'll be relaxing with Japanese crime novels, bingeing some classic anime, strolling the countryside or at the gym listening to the heaviest metal Spotify has to offer. QLED isn't a new TV technology as much as it's a rebrand. Until 2017, Samsung called its flagship TVs SUHD, but that wasn't working as well as it hoped, so it's now called them QLED – which stands for Quantum-dot Light Emitting Diode. Yep, that's it. In the ever-evolving world of television technology, a 43-inch TV is often a popular choice for those seeking a balance between screen size and space efficiency. The UK market continually offers a wide array of options, each boasting unique features and innovations to enhance your viewing experience. It's hard to disagree, but despite LG, Sony, Panasonic, TP-Vision (under the Philips brand in the UK), Loewe, Bang & Olufsen, Skyworth, and ChangHong all now selling OLED TVs, they do tend to be very expensive – despite the fact prices are improving a little.

Samsung's image processing makes it look refined and impressive cinematic, and the eight speakers built into it means it'll sound far better than the competition here, and you may not need to add a soundbar for clear audio. All of this does mean its the most expensive option here, though. The A95K is powered by Sony’s advanced Cognitive XR processor and its picture processing is some of the best around. Compression artefacts and noise are reduced to an incredible degree, and upscaling of non-4K content is remarkably effective. Motion handling is equally impressive and these qualities all add up to what is a nuanced and captivating watch regardless of what content you’re consuming. Top-notch picture performance is complemented by excellent audio courtesy of Sony’s Acoustic Surface Audio+ technology, which transforms the TV’s panel into a speaker. Also expect to find lots of region-specific apps such as BBC iPlayer in the UK, HBO Max in the US and Stan in Australia. Overall, the Toshiba 43LK3C63DB TV is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a Full HD Smart TV with advanced features and a sleek design. The TV’s Dolby Audio and various picture modes ensure a high-quality viewing experience, while the Smart TV platform provides easy access to a wide range of streaming services. The TV’s slim profile, range of connectivity options, and energy-saving features make it a practical and stylish choice for any home. While most TVs come with built-in speakers, they may not deliver the best audio quality. Consider purchasing a soundbar or a TV with built-in Dolby Atmos technology for a more immersive audio experience. Connectivity Sound quality is a little disappointing given that this is LG’s flagship 4K TV, and you’ll have to pay extra for a stand if you don’t want to wall mount it as there’s not one included, but otherwise, this mighty MLA-powered is hard to fault and one of the best televisions we’ve seen years. Essentially, the higher the dynamic range (brightness and colours), the more lifelike the picture. HDR offers greater subtlety and depth of gradations of colours, plus stronger contrast.

The Cello ZG0234 43″ Smart Android TV is an impressive television that offers a wide range of features for an immersive viewing experience. The TV boasts a 4K Ultra HD resolution that delivers stunning picture quality and true-to-life color accuracy. Look up ‘unassuming’ in the dictionary and you will probably find a picture of the Samsung UE43AU7100. This 43-inch LCD TV doesn’t flaunt a particularly flamboyant design, doesn’t sell for a particularly outrageous price – either high or low – and its features list is certainly no Lord Of The Rings-style epic. The JVC Fire TV 43” Smart TV has an impressive range of connectivity options, including three HDMI ports, two USB ports, and built-in Wi-Fi. Connecting all your favorite devices, including gaming consoles, soundbars, and streaming devices, is easy. The TV also supports Bluetooth connectivity, allowing you to connect wireless headphones or speakers. The TCL QM8/QM850G QLED is a very bright QLED TV, the brightest on this list. Unfortunately, it's quirky and buggy, has poor upscaling capabilities, and its color accuracy is just okay before being calibrated, so it's hard to recommend over competing models. Ultimately, the Hisense U8/U8K is a bit better overall for a similar price. The TCL Q6/Q650G QLED is a decent option in the budget price range, although the Hisense U6/U6K is a bit better overall due to its much better contrast. Still, the TCL is more interesting for gamers as it can do 1080p and 1440p @ 120Hz with resolution halving. Aside from clearer images, another benefit of digital TV is the electronic programme guide (EPG), which can show you what’s on now or later at a glance. All TVs display “now” and “next” information in a small pop-up window, but most models also have a more in-depth fullscreen mode that shows seven or more days of scheduling. What ports and connections do I need?
