These hardbottom habitats are shallow (<20 m), with generally turbid waters, and support low diversity mixtures of ahermatypic eurytopic taxa of stony corals ( Cladocora arbuscula, Siderastrea spp., and Oculina spp.), octocorals, macroalgae, and sponges ( Jaap, 1984; Phillips et al., 1990; Walker et al., 2008; Lirman, 2013). They are classified as essential fish habitat by the NOAA Fisheries serving as nursery and foraging grounds for economically and commercially important species (e.g., grouper, gray snapper, and hogfish) ( Jaap, 1984; Simon and Mahadevan, 1985; Rice and Hunter, 1992; Thompson et al., 1999; Saul et al., 2013; Coleman et al., 2014; Jaap et al., 2014).

Turtle mentioned Coral in his letter to Starflight, and was also mentioned by Fin in his letter to Turtle, stating that she promised to come to their hatching party and read her next book to them. She was also mentioned in Anemone's letter to Tamarin. Coral is vengeful, [6] [16] over-protective, [17] menacing, [18] [6] commanding, [19] and stern. [20] [21] She is also ignorant, [22] fearsome, [23] judgemental, [24] distrustful, [25] and cares greatly for rules and traditions; [26] although none of her subjects were underfed or grumpy like the SkyWings were under Queen Scarlet's harsh rule. [27] She can be insensitive and dismissive, [20] [28] and often only cares about imperative information. [29] [28] Habitat distribution differed between the north and south study areas ( Table 1). The northern study area contained 72.9% (215.77 km 2) of the total pavement, 100% (20.13 km 2) of continuous and discontinuous seagrass, and 37.3% (188.56 km 2) of sand-cyanobacteria ( Figure 2). The southern study area contained 27.1% (80.12 km 2) of the pavement, 100% (4.56 km 2) of the Ca. prolifera, and 62.7% (316.95 km 2) of the sand-cyanobacteria ( Figure 3). The habitats also varied within each mapped area ( Table 1).
