About this deal

The Vampire Next Door" is a not-so-subtle takes on the bigotry of our modern time and throughout the history of human's nature. The romance development is nice and solid, even if it's an attraction-at-first-sight type of romance. The Vampire Next Door” MCs are both likeable. Courtney is the human, and Lare is the vampire. Courtney is dealing with serial infidelity by her four-month long partner Mia, and despite her own insta-attraction for Lare, she will not cheat on Mia with even a kiss. She annoyed me only twice: once when she continued to think she was in a relationship with Mia even after Mia clearly said “we’re done”, and secondly when she took so long to figure out the pretty transparent mystery and what her own role was to be. Overall, though, she was likable, loyal and sweet. Lare was mysterious and hot, and this is the first vampire book that describes a vampire as warm to the touch, so the steamy scenes were more pleasant ;) I enjoyed the quality of dialogue and Courtney’s inner dialogue, and Maria Marquis’ voice was perfect throughout! I had a rant all ready to go, but I think it's best just to part ways peacefully. It's not me, it's you, etc.

J T Hunter’s research includes letters written by him, interviews, police reports, etc. He is a Ted Bundy type of serial killer, coming across as the harmless guy net door, with a psychopathic ability to fake caring and able to manipulate others to do his bidding. Watch out when the dark comes to light. No conscience. No qualms about lying to achieve his ends. The evolution of their story, the mystery of what happened to those missing colleagues and society's reaction to vampires having been integrated into the mainstream is what this story is about. While the research seems solid, the book reads like summaries of various newspaper articles, with occasional author input along the way. The details are repetitious and could easily be condensed to half this book's length. The film does an excellent job of showing the passing of time and, by the early 20th Century she meets a vampire named Josephine (Kayle Workman). Jo teaches her, amongst other things, English and, when we get to hear their ages, is a younger vampire than Evelyn. However, she has much less regard for human lives than the older (and somehow more innocent) vampire and this will eventually bring them into conflict – a conflict that will resolve in the 1989 primary setting of the film. I read this book in two days and with work, life and the pursuit of writing my own book should tell you that it really kept my attention. We're told what people are thinking at certain times and about certain situations, when the author couldn't possibly know what any of these people thought because he didn't interview anyone.

I am SO mad at myself! I was constantly trying to guess what was about to happen and when I figured it all out I had to drag myself through the last chapters...

Purchasing this product gives you access to The Vampire Next Door provided in the following formats: I liked this book a lot but since I ruined it for myself I didn't enjoy it as much as I would have if I'd been smarter... JT Hunter is a lawyer that has spent the last two years looking into this case and has done an amazing job presenting the case of JB Crutchley. I like how he notes that with any book like this one there is certain guessing when talking about the person. JT has written a captivating story of a man that had a horrible childhood and some serious issues later in his life. He had a terrible upbringing, but I make no excuses for him. We all make choices, and he made some depraved ones. He is brilliant, a genius IQ, equivalent to Bill Gates, but socially and romantically inept. Some of the jobs he held are amazing, working for NASA, the pentagon, and other top secret clearance companies. Liked the audiobook. It's a love at first sight novel and features a small mystery, both the love and mystery plot is a bit too predictable for my tastes, maybe slightly boring at times, but it's still able to take home points for Lare.

So this is the second season (book) in a Kindle Vella serial (episodes 19 -33!) If you aren’t familiar with Kindle Vellas, it’s a way for authors to essentially write ✍️ a little bit per week and you can read it via a token system with Kindle! Once the author has enough written where they think the collection would make a book 📕, they can then make it available via Kindle Unlimited (they have to wait 30 days ☀️ after the last episode on Kindle Vella to make the grouping of episodes available on KU, FYI!) And this is what this author did! WHICH IS SO GREAT 🤩! Also with this approach, the books tend to be shorter 🤏🏻… which makes them PERFECT 👌🏻 for a weekend 🌴 read, in my opinion 😁!I got no real sense of Crutchley as a person. We're repeatedly told that he's brilliant, though I saw no evidence of such intelligence. We're told about childish tantrums and we're given an onslaught of his behavior regarding sex. By the end, that's all I knew about this man, who, in this book, is more caricature than intelligent killer. It had to be something bad for Marcus to lose his cool, unless he was hungry again. April looked at Seth with pleading eyes, and he walked over to them slowly. April looked up at Seth, the tears were streaming down her cheeks, and she was clutching her throat where Marcus’s hands had been moments ago. Seth helped her up from the floor, bent down so that he was on her level, and smiled softly. Paige and Seth lay in silence for hours; it was nice and nothing like the usual tension that clouded the air around them. It was just them content in each other’s company, he hadn’t said anything else to her since he had admitted he cared, and she hadn’t pushed him, she was too scared he would run again. The Vampire Next Door” combines the writing talents of Natalie Vivien and her wife Bridget Essex, with the FANTASTIC narration by Maria Marquis.

She just seems like one of those people that is completely defined by the people around them. No real personality of her own, just changing and begging for the approval of whomever will toss her scraps of affection. This is a fast entertaining read. I thought the authors did a great job with the characters of Courtney & Lare. Their chemistry was definitely there, and I was rooting for them to get together the whole time. They were just so likeable and nice!I didn’t like the outrages prejudice against the vamps, which was barely touched upon 2) the fact that our main character Courtney came off as some what of a push-over, when it came to her ex-gf ALSO, outta nowhere, he is in LOVE with her. Uhm. Insta-lust was happening. Major possessive stuff, dom stuff... and now he loves her? She's twenty something, and he's hundreds and after 3 days of infiltrating every orifice she has, he's in love. But she needs to know, according to him, he's sadistic... but that doesn't deter her... cause he's SOOO hot. Sigggh. Marcus looked over his shoulder at Seth and shook his head, “You won’t want me to let go of her when you know what she has done!” Nevertheless, the relationship between Jane Doe & Dr. Walker grows, they get married and it appears a happily ever after is on the horizon until tragedy strikes again. Dr. Walker is mugged and killed on or around their anniversary. As Jane is slowly recovering from her loss, the mysterious Sebastian moves into the house next door. She feels a pull in his direction however; she is being dragging in another direction by her deceased husband’s twin brother. Now, I just thought that was a bit creepy and fortunately for me, I wasn’t the only one because the thought never quite sat right with Jane. John “JB” Crutchley is known as the Vampire Rapist because he drained the blood of his victims and would drink it in front of him as he repeatedly raped them. Although he was only convicted of the kidnapping and rape of a nineteen-year-old girl. But the police think that he has killed more than thirty people. Unfortunately, they could not find the evidence to prosecute him.
