About this deal

For this price, you get unlimited access to dermatologists if you have any questions about your skin, your prescription, or Dermatica. And, of course, you get your prescription every month too. There are also free online consultations with Dermatica’s dermatology team to discuss your skin and prescription as time goes on. Lots of the scientific research into Azelaic as a treatment for acne and melasma is based on 20%. There is a school of thought that there is no need to use such a high percentage when you can get results from lower percentages, with less irritation. Speaking from personal experience, I have never had the same results from 10% in terms of acne reduction, 20% has always worked much better for me so I will always go with that strength. You could try the lower percentage product first, like The Ordinary Azelaic Suspension 10%. Azelaic Acid 20% From Dermatica- Ingredients

Head over to Dermatica and choose your skin concern. There are treatments for acne, anti-ageing, hyperpigmentation, melasma, skin glow, and rosacea. Since using this cream, I've seen a reduction in the amount of spots that I was getting. Plus it's got rid of some stubborn milia type spots. My skin tone is more even and bright. The cream has also helped fade my acne pigmentation. All in all, I've been really impressed with it! After you select what treatment you’d like, you answer a questionnaire about yourself and your skin. It includes questions about medical conditions, age, ingredient allergies, and more. At this stage, you also upload 3 clear and high-quality pictures of your skin, without makeup, for Dermatica’s dermatology team to assess. You take 1 photo of the right side of your face, 1 photo for the left side of your face, and 1 photo of the front of your face. Cholesterol- A fatty substance essential for a good moisturiser in combination with fatty acids and ceramides The Azelaic Acid 20% Cream is vegan and cruelty-free. This OTC azelaic acid cream is also free from alcohol and fragrance. It promises to:AA is more effective than vehicle for rosacea, acne and melasma. Comparisons between AA and other treatments were often equivalent. Where there is equivalence, AA may be a good option for some clinical situations. RCT evidence is needed to evaluate the effectiveness of AA on skin aging. Dermatica strongly recommends minimising the following common triggers that lead to rosacea flare-ups: Azelaic Acid is one of those ingredients that can really work for anyone. It’s known for it’s easy going nature- it’s non irritating (in the main, there’ll alway be someone who can’t get on with it but generally it’s well tolerated), it doesn’t cause sun sensitivity or go off easily. You can use it when you’re pregnant or breastfeeding.

Dermatica says that when you first start a rosacea treatment, it’s normal to experience dryness. It says that if you don’t experience any dryness, this doesn’t mean your treatment isn’t working, so bear this in mind. Boasting 20% azelaic acid and with this ingredient being the first on the INCI list (besides water), this is a powerful solution. Loads of skincare brands market their key “actives” on products, but when you look at the INCI list, those ingredients are right at the bottom. Disappointing, I know. Of course, the formula is king, so this isn’t applicable to every product, but it is to a lot of them. It’s so refreshing to see that a product marketed for azelaic acid features this ingredient right near the top of the ingredients list.

Dermatica have now brought out their first "over the counter" product - Azelaic Acid 20% Cream. I've been using this for about 6 weeks now so it's time to share my thoughts! Azelaic Acid is fantastic for acne sufferers as it helps reduce inflammation as well as fading any pigmentation that has been left behind by spots. This cream also contains Ceramides and Vitamin E to soothe and nourish skin. Dermatica describes rosacea as: “Rosacea is a cause of persistent redness around the cheeks, chin, nose and forehead, affecting around 10% of people.” Bit of history from my side- I suffer with acne and melasma. My melasma is kind of under control after using Hydroquinone and Tretinoin but I’m on a break from the Hydroquinone so I could do with some bonus depigmentation which know Azelaic is good for. I get nasty spots around my period and little spots around my lower face all month long, yey! In this post, I’m discussing Dermatica’s over-the-counter (OTC) Azelaic Acid 20% Cream. OTC means that this isn’t prescription skincare, unlike Dermatica’s custom prescription options ( more on that here). Anyone can buy this azelaic acid cream without consulting a dermatologist.

As well as my everyday redness being reduced, I’ve also noticed that my rosacea flare-ups are both less frequent and less noticeable when they happen. My rosacea tends to flare up when my skin gets warm. Now I’m finding that my rosacea doesn’t get triggered so easily. But when my skin does flare up, the redness is less obvious now and tends to go away much faster. Disclaimer: Dermaticagifted me this product for review purposes, but all thoughts are my own and unbiased Once I’d gone through the questionnaire and uploaded my photos, I waited for my prescription to arrive. Dermatica informed me of what was happening behind the scenes while I waited, including sending me my virtual prescription document. I read this thoroughly before my prescription arrived so I could get started right away.

All prescriptions are created uniquely for the individual. Prescriptions are continually personalised, based on the prescriber’s skin as it changes over time. How does Dermatica work? And potentially Male Androgenic Alopecia, Keratosis Pilaris, Periorofacial Dermatitis, Psoriasis and Hidradenitis Suppurativa I’ve been using my Dermatica rosacea treatment for about 6 weeks, and I’m here to tell you just how effective my prescription is. Does Dermatica deserve its popularity, or is it an overhyped skincare service? After the dermatology team has created your skincare prescription, you simply wait for it to arrive. Each bottle is designed to last for about 1 month, and a new prescription arrives every 28 days. Dermatica recommend one or two pumps twice a day (under sunscreen in the day). One pump is a good amount to cover the whole face. It has a heavy creamy texture but isn’t greasy at all. It doesn’t spread that easily, I feel that I need a little moisture with it to spread it well. If you know anything about me from my podcast or YouTube videos, you’ll know that I’m all about a hydrating mist to help my skincare layers absorb and with the Dermatica Azelaic 20% Cream I feel like I need a little spritz to smooth things along. It absorbs well with no pilling.
