I ended up selling my bottle of this as I felt it was a bit too sharply herbal for me and also a little too melancholic. I'm not sure how it's a polarizing scent, because I find it very pleasing and not at all daring or out of the ordinary, although it is pretty unique.

The materials are used in a dazzlingly stylized way, fascinating perhaps, but even great “characters” of a perfumer's palette such as rosemary and cypress lose their soul and when they manage to escape from Cavallier's technical trap they feel slightly offensive or overacting. Imagine it's a sunny Saturday, I'm walking down the gravel path in a dark blue jumper with khaki chinos, and white sneakers, I can still smell the hoarfrost. Longevity is well below average, as I sprayed this only about 2 hours ago and can barely smell it, even when I stick my nose right up against my skin. I first bought this fragrance in 2005 and it was my signature scent at a time when I only owned 5 bottles of cologne total. Overall, this is a very nice smelling fragrance and is easy to wear for most all occasions and seasons.

It's got a touch of the almost seaweedy earthiness of something like Bulgari Atlantique, it's got something woody happening in there, and definitely pine somewhere in the middle, but that slightly citrusy pine of green pine sprouts, not like a dry aged pine. Fragrance presented as masculine but also very pleasant for women who love expiratory / aromatic fragrances.

And it's powerful enough to earn compliments at a dinner party, after a long day in the office and having put it early in the morning. Very green aromatic, has a camphorated smell, like a "sterilized" feel, it can be a strange description but I find very well made and elegant.Blue Astral opens with some fresh sparkling lime on top of a dark green bed of coriander, which becomes more evident as the scent goes into the mid and drydown, along with very generic fuzzy woody notes (might be cashmeran? I get why people consider it to be a winter scent, which is what I'm using it for now, but we'll see in the summer what I say then! However, those who deal with the marketing of the brand were totally wrong with the color of the bottle .

Like a previous reviewer (Golcher) where I sprayed on my arms the fragrance didn't seem to last but I was getting wafts for many hours from either the back of my neck or my chest/t shirt. The fragrance is described as woody and spicy, but like almost all "blue-marked" fragrances it also has a distinct freshness component. I'm a big fan of layering things but I don't know if I'd tamper with this one, the balance is just right. after they all dried, i ended putting it 6th swapping it with givenchy gentleman which smells to have a few of the same notes. While we strive to provide accurate and helpful information, we cannot guarantee the complete accuracy or reliability of the AI-generated pros and cons.

But overall, a very versatile easy, inoffensive well made quality scent from Issey, an oddball in the Nuit D'Issey line. The often claimed 'Italiansess' of this perfume becomes most evident here, and turning L'Eau Bleue into quite an enigma, which I thoroughly recommend experiencing.
