when I record a CD, it'll play on a couple of my CD players, but in others (like my car CD player) it sounds all static-y and eventually won't play the whole CD. Certain items can take longer to source than the estimated week, particularly during busy trading periods and may take longer to arrive at our warehouse.

The damn plastic crap in the dash cracking and busting little cheap plastic clips is what makes it a pain in the ass, and often worth paying someone. The Giotto's rocket air blower, available from some photographic outlets is good, because it has some mechanism whereby it does not suck dust into it before you use it to blow air out - and it's cheap. Never mind, with my newly cleaned DVD player I fitted it back into my wife’s 500 ML, imagine my disappointment when it dident even power up, then my horror at the plumes of smoke that bellowed from the dashboard.

After this observation, the ubiquitous CD laser lens cleaner disc began to creep into the marketplace. The benefits of a lens cleaning CD is that your lens will have the dust removed from it, thereby allowing the laser to read the disc fully. It may be that the player in your car needs the attention, but it’s good to have a maintenance routine for all your dust magnets such as floppy drives, CD/DVD units, Jazz drives, etc. After the glue dried I wetted the strips down with Alcohol and ran it through the player 3 times and amazingly it played a CD the first try. The competitor’s item must be brand new, identical in specification to ours, and offered on the same terms. There is a very low risk that a malfunction could turn the laser on while the player is open, and that it could then point at your face and damage your eyes.

Whether you need to fix, build, create or learn, eHow gives you practical solutions to the problems life throws at you. For items that are dispatched using our standard service, we ask that you wait 14 days from the date of dispatch before reporting any items as undelivered. Some of the data that are collected include the number of visitors, their source, and the pages they visit anonymously.

Tease the end out slightly and lightly moisten (not wet), then gently clean the lens using a slow spinning action on the bud. I checked the clearance of the CD Laser assmembly to the CD to be around 1/8″ (the distance of the gap between the laser element and CD). Even then, it's unlikely to do so unless you put your eye quite close, or stare at it for a long time. Those coatings are there in cameras because you can take pictures against the source of light (sun). Well, was I going to take the unit apart to see if I could see what the problem might be, or spend just a little bit of money to see if cleaning the lens would do the trick. The cleaning discs have a brush sticking down from the disc at 90 degrees that brushes against the lens. If the item comes direct from a manufacturer, it may be delivered in non-retail packaging, such as a plain or unprinted box or plastic bag. Being a non-polar molecule it will NOT disolve ant plastic parts (they are soluble only in polar solvents like acetone).
