The feel of the book is like ice. My bones were chilled. Of course, it could have been because of the cold dark room Ruby was kept in, or it could have been the stellar writing of M. J. Arlidge. Either way, I was glued to the storyline, holding my breath awaiting the stunning conclusion. I had a weird perspective on the captor (bad guy) in this book, he really is light and shade and complex, I felt the author did a brilliant job on portraying him to be very unstable and impossible to read.
