Part of how she does it is having parts of the chapter being narrated by Hirano and Kagiura respectively and having them contrast each other. Niibashi suggests that Kagiura learn to become more independent, and Kagiura decides that he wants their relationship to be more akin to that of equals.

Some helpful extras at the end of the volume include two pages of illustrated character bios and a timeline (with spoilers) to show where the chapters intersect with the storyline of Sasaki and Miyano. Hirano has no regrets, even if he is sad about it, because he got to see Kagiura trying his best from up close. But Hirano has genuinely been making Kagiura happy, even with the romantic feelings that Hirano has been associating with hurting Kagiura.

It’s understandable that Shou Harusono would want to make these two protagonists very different from her main pair but she’s set herself a difficult task. As he continues to rely on Hirano more and more each day, he develops strong feelings for his selfless friend. The two of them have a dysfunctional friendship, Kagiura often steering their conversation topics to blather on about his beloved Hirano.

The way I see it, going the “big brother” route (instead of the romantic one) would be similar to their current relationship, only more so. Remember how interested Boys’ Love fanatic Miyano is in the relationship between the two, because ‘two boys sharing a bedroom’ is the starting point for ever so many BL romances? It turns out Kagiura is trying not to touch Hirano outside of their 10 seconds, because he thinks it's unfair and also because he wants Hirano to be more conscious of the time they do spend touching. Hirano isn’t interested in getting closer to Kagiura in a romantic sense, but getting closer in a more platonic sense? But when Kagiura is laid low with a really heavy cold, he still insists on going to team practice because there’s an important match coming up – until Hirano has to lay down the law.He is generally bright and cheerful, but he is a sore loser and at times he is prone to bouts of moodiness, especially after losing a game. Hirano to Kagiura has to work for at least three groups of readers simultaneously: people who only know Hirano and Kagiura from Sasaki to Miyano extras, people who have read the novel Hirano to Kagiura is a sequel of, and people who are going into it blindly. There’s no doubt that Kagiura idolizes his senpai; when the second years are away, he tells his sceptical classmate Niibashi that he’d like to marry Hirano, “Because then no one else can take him from me.

He has, after all, been mainly fighting for keeping their current relationship since Preparations and plans for the cultural festival begin: Hirano's class decides to do a haunted house, while Kagiura suggests his class do a yakitori stand, and the two agree to walk around together when it happens. Leighann Harvey again delivers a very readable translation of a text that’s almost exclusively the day-to-day banter of high school boys. From the creator of Sasaki and Miyano— the story of Miyano’s bad boy senpai and his BL life with his roommate! Hirano to Kagiura manga summary: Hirano, a second-year in high school, lives in a dormitory on his campus and has recently become roommates with Kagiura, a first year. Yen Press has delivered an attractive volume that matches the others in the ongoing Sasaki and Miyano series with four colour pictures at the start, showcasing Harusono’s skilful use of radiant colour. The first was a special extra released with the February 2021 edition of Monthly Comic Gene, to celebrate the series coming off hiatus. Secondly, Hirano is naturally the kind to take care of people and especially loves to take care of Kagiura.

School is back in session and Kagiura is coming to terms with his feelings for Hirano, but he still leaves himself the space of "I think. Despite this they get along well, and Kagiura receives (albeit somewhat begrudging) support and advice from Niibashi. However, in spite of Kagiura’s bold statement, this manga brings us yet another slow-burn BL relationship, just like the main series. I was expecting this short to serve as an introduction to the relationship between Hirano and Kagiura seen in the manga series of the same name, since anime-only viewers do not know much about these characters, particularly Kagiura. This causes Hirano to wonder if his well-meaning advice to his kouhai to get back on his feet in a day was ill-advised. As for Hirano he is a tsundere (If I'm correct XD )I actually love how supportive he is with Kagiura and also with the side characters and gives consideration to Kagiura's Feelings. The mangaka is definitely enjoying herself, playfully toying with readers’ expectations that Something is Bound to Happen! Eventually it comes out; Kagiura is asking himself if he missed the crucial shot because he was still ill.
