While no sparkling wine can be labeled as Champagne other than those made in the Champagne region, in the famous brandy-making region of Cognac, there are six different growing regions, two of which have Champagne in their names: Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne. One of the "big four" Cognac houses, Rémy Martin is best known for producing some of the world's best Fine Champagne Cognac (a blend of Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne spirit - the two premier appellations in the Cognac region). To be designated VSOP, the youngest brandy in the blend must have been cask-aged for at least four years.
