There are some suitable 24” mats that fit the TWD theme nicely. While the mats are only 4” longer in both dimensions, this does translate to a big difference in terms of playing surface. A 24” mat actually has 44% more playing surface than a 20” mat. If you were using the same number of walkers on both mats then the level of ‘walker concentration’ would be greater on the smaller mat. You would have to work harder to get past them. So as a consequence games may be faster on a 24” mat, which can be important for events / tournaments.

Q: I know you currently don’t have rules for inside buildings but are considering it. Obviously most of the rules will be the same as outside for moving, melee, etc. But a couple rules for buildings will be needed.Q: What sort of range is there between points costs? How much is the cheapest type of gang member and how much is the more expensive, and what does the difference get you, just better stats, or more equipment slots/extra rules etc. Victory usually revolves around who can grab the most supply counters or who can kill every member of the opposing group of survivors, but you can make up your own conditions or ‘missions’. We tend to play with an odd number of supply tokens on the board and when you collect a majority you then have to also make it off the board safely from the side that you started on. There is a gaming mat in the box for you to play on but as you get more used to the game you will want to perhaps play on a bigger surface and add more scenery elements. Barricades and buldings from other tabletop games work perfectly well, as do some toy model cars if the scale is about right. Mantic have produced a scenery booster set which adds 3D cars and barricades and these are very good also. So too is the deluxe gaming mat accessory which is the same as the one in the box but made out of mousemat material instead of paper. Important to note, is that this game is based on the original comic series and they do not have the rights to make anything that was original to the TV series. Cry big, salty tears that Darryl is therefore not in this game. From Mantic Games The Walking Dead Call To Arms is the Skirmish miniatures game based on the comic book franchise.

In 2019, Mantic Games released a series of miniatures for a new version of All Out War titled Call to Arms. Q: Will the cards in this game be one of the industry standard sizes so we can get card sleeves to fit? The game is based on the original Walking Dead comic books by Skybound Entertainment. The original boxed game is a great standalone game that is enhanced with various boosters and expansions.

How to Play The Walking Dead Call To Arms?

Custom expansions are created by myself and "Mantic's The Walking Dead - Finishing the Story" Facebook Group. Start assigning how many dice and what colour dice your Survivor will roll for Melee, Shoot and Defense. Depending upon what dice you choose, it’ll start adding to your Survivor’s overall cost. Red dice (which have the lowest potential results) are the cheapest, while blue dice are the most expensive. You must give your Survivor at least one red dice for defense. In addition to the scenarios (and of course the new characters and equipment cards) each expansion will introduce a few new rules to add a twist to the core game. These will be a key part of the scenarios, but there is nothing to stop you using them in your regular games for a bit more excitement. For example, the Atlanta campfire adds rules for Walkers and tents being set on fire, buildings such as the farm’s barn can become spawn points for new Walkers in the middle of the board, and Woodbury will add rules for playing at night. There’s plenty to look forward to! The Walking Dead can be credited for revitalising the zombie genre when it appeared first as a celebrated comic and then as the long-running TV show reusing characters and recognisable narratives from the comic. The continuing narrative, focusing on a central group of survivors from the Atlanta area of the States, challenged what we would expect; here the zombies, or Walkers to those familiar with the mythos, were not villains here. Instead the regular challenges facing the survivors is the regular discovery of other groups of survivors willing to do anything to survive and scavenge the last remaining resources of food and firearms.

A: Zombies are 15 points, so in a 150pt game you will start with 10 on the table. When we hit the prison we will add in some slightly more expensive zombies in riot gear…

Writer

Having been involved in some great TWD events over the last year such as Conflict, and designed the scenarios used in the two largest AOW events so far (Winter’s End & Trial By Fire), this guest blog is going to focus on some of the considerations you might have if you want to devise your own scenarios too. Ezekiel is then shown in a house in Alexandria with Michonne, having telling her the story, he tells her about how ashamed he feels and that he wishes he would've died instead of his men and that perhaps his death would've had some positive influence for his men and that they would have won and that his death would have been seen as a heroic sacrifice. He somberly adds that if he had died he wouldn't have to face the loss of his men, and he wouldn't have lost Shiva herself.
