The book takes a unique form, as Scarlett tells the story of her younger life and the escalating abuse she suffers she ends each chapter with her "present self" looking on and counselling the young girl she was with the benefit of hindsight . If that sounds a bit odd it's a very effective device and shows how differently she sees what happened to her as a child and how she views it now. Also, the date when Jericho Jones was killed was 8 years ago? Like when someone put those gifts in a safety box? I don’t remember at what age the jones lost their father but I don’t know why I feel that’s connected. I also think that there is some serious plot twist with Adams because I find odd that he is mention a lot and everything is happening because he told the squad to be with Aurora, but we don’t really know nothing about him and I think it is because we already know him.
